Nowadays, a kind of trend has developed around AI, machine learning and no-code technologies. Because it learns from the data of millions of sites on the Internet, AI knows more than some people. No wonder people are starting to fear that AI will replace them in their profession. Since I am a software developer, I can only tell you how much this will affect programmers. But before we get into it, let's see the statistics to see how much we've improved!

AI is definitely hot right now. At the Google I/O developer conference, every second word was AI.
AI can do a lot of things now, for example, write text, paint pictures, play music and even code. But how well can it write functional code? Can it replace human programmers?
Personal experience
I'm like most software developers. I like to do everything in the simplest and fastest way.😂
Once I wanted to make a simple project that takes data and runs simple algorithms on it and sends it back. I thought, since everyone is talking about ChatGPT, why not have the whole project done with it?😏
I tried to explain to it in advance what the purpose of the project was and asked how I could solve it.🔍
It's true that it didn't write me code right away, but it described the main parts of the software and how it works very precisely.👏
At first it generated mindless big bullshit. I realized that it can code small things, but bigger and more complex things are already a problem.🤔
I was actually surprised that it sometimes threw back my own code as a fix for a bug or suggested changes that only resulted in a lot more bugs.🐞
There was one thing I liked about it, namely that it could explain the error messages quite precisely, what exactly the problem was. Of course, there is a difference between the paid and non-paid versions of ChatGPT, but for me, his knowledge was downright deplorable.😭
The temporary hype
As with all new technologies, there is a rollercoaster of hype. When people first hear about it, the Technology Trigger begins, i.e. they are amazed by the new technology and want to try it. At first, they expect a lot from the solution, but as soon as they integrate the tool into their lives, they realize that it is not that useful. Of course, it will still be useful for some users, but they won't be so fired up by it. This is the stage where the new technology is even flowing from the tap. ChatGPT is also here.
After all this, there is a slope, when people concretely get bored of the novelty, and then little by little it is included among the millions of other average software and people will either use it or not.
Does artificial intelligence really have a mind of its own? 🧠
Unfortunately, they are not yet capable of their own thinking. In fact, all AI models work by trying to draw conclusions from a lot of data and look for correlations, and then give the answer they are most confident about when asked by the user. 🪄
Of course, there are also generative artificial intelligences, but they also just cut the answers together. So, AI is still a long way from thinking for itself.🤣
